In Between Worlds is a photographic book by Han Yang that brings together portraits, interviews, and staged images made between 2017 and 2025 across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and London. Focusing on queer, trans, and nonbinary participants including CC, Sugar Bar, Holli Xue, Kaikai Chou, and Plastic Sister, the book explores identity not as a fixed condition but as a fluid process of becoming. Moving between documentary intimacy and constructed visual language, the work reflects on the body as a site of transformation, vulnerability, performance, and relation. Through image and text, the book traces how selfhood is continuously shaped through memory, desire, embodiment, and social space.
